An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Private Equity Senior Associate to join a leading private equity investment firm focused on Asia's flourishing energy sector. This role offers an extraordinary chance to work on regional deals in the natural resources, mining, minerals and energy sector. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects within the energy segment in Indonesia including upstream oil & gas, power generation, energy minerals and related infrastructure with investment size ranging from $10 - $50m.

What you'll do:
As a Private Equity Senior Associate, you will be at the forefront of managing and evaluating private investments. Your role will involve reviewing, assessing, and executing attractive investment opportunities efficiently. You will participate in due diligence processes, pricing, deal structuring, negotiations and legal workstreams. Your ability to interact effectively with management and other investors will be crucial as you attend board meetings and work on strategic initiatives within portfolio companies.
- Evaluate private investments in majority/minority equity, growth capital, buyouts, structured transactions and co-investing.
- Assist in reviewing, assessing, and executing attractive investment opportunities efficiently and expeditiously.
- Participate in due diligence processes, pricing, deal structuring, negotiations and legal workstreams.
- Attend board meetings and interact with management and other investors regularly.
- Act as the conduit between the Investment Committee and the Operations teams on the ground.
- Employ an entrepreneurial approach to portfolio management whilst applying rigorous investment discipline across the various phases of the business cycle.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Private Equity Senior Associate role brings a wealth of experience from a top-tier commodities focus within an investment bank or private equity fund specialising in Energy and Natural Resources. You possess strong commercial judgement and have proven experience in deal execution, diligence, and closing direct investments. Your ability to oversee various counterparties demonstrates your excellent interpersonal skills. With strong written communication skills, you can manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- At least 4 years' of work experience in a top-tier investment bank or private equity fund specialising in energy and natural resources.
- A Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Geology disciplines.
- Strong commercial judgement and experience in deal execution, diligence and closing in direct investments.
- Possess extensive regional networks and a track record in creating investor value across a diverse and multi-jurisdictional portfolio.
- Strong written and communication skills; good organisational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Experience working on energy private equity deals in Indonesia.
- Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia would be advantageous for communicating with clients and government officials based in Indonesia.
