What you'll do:
As a Merchandise Planner, you will be instrumental in formulating retail sales, margin, and inventory plans that shape consumer architecture. You will establish pre and in-season top-down financial business targets, develop and oversee seasonal open-to-buy forecasts, and align assortment plans with merchandise financial plans. Your sharp eye for spotting potential opportunities or risks against sales and inventory plans will be vital in this role. Moreover, your knack for fostering collaboration across various stakeholders will be crucial in delivering successful financial plans.
- Formulate retail sales, margin and inventory plan
- Establish pre and in-season top down financial business targets
- Develop and oversee seasonal open to buy forecast
- Align assortment plans with merchandise financial plans
- Spot potential opportunities and/or risks in the business against sales and inventory plans
- Foster Collaboration and incorporate input from key stakeholders on financial plans
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Merchandise Planner role brings a minimum of 6 years retail relevant experience in merchandising buying/business/demand planning. You possess an in-depth understanding of retail metrics and have a robust ability to interpret financial sales data to make decisions that impact the business. Your commercial insight is complemented by leadership competencies such as embracing & leading change, communicating vision & purpose, valuing differences, strategic thinking and fostering innovation. Advanced proficiency in MS office applications, particularly Excel, along with experience with planning software/tools and merchandise management systems would be highly beneficial.
