What you'll do:
As a Senior Merchandiser, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's sourcing strategy. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing various projects from sourcing to delivery, ensuring they meet market demands and are delivered on time. You will also be responsible for developing a robust supplier base that aligns with our global sourcing strategy. Your proactive approach will enable you to stay ahead of market trends and identify new product opportunities. Furthermore, your strong negotiation skills will be crucial in managing all aspects of sourcing activities.
- Follow up projects from sourcing, development and secure orders with suppliers, customers and internal parties to meet market demand & OTIF delivery.
- Support engineering design & coordinate with external & internal parties to ensure a cost-saving and high production efficiency design/product.
- Develop/build a strong supplier base to fulfil our Global sourcing strategy & ensure it meets our capability, capacity & cost requirements.
- Drive the sourcing process from supplier identification, evaluation/qualification, negotiation & engagement through all processes.
- Maintain up-to-date market trend information and proactively identify product opportunities.
- Manage and follow through all-round sourcing activities including but not limited to price negotiation, project co-ordination and delivery, product development, buying trips and factory visits.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Senior Merchandiser role brings extensive experience in the Merchandising or Manufacturing field, preferably within the DIY market. Your expertise in handling projects independently and dealing with sourcing, cost analysis and capacity evaluation will be highly valued. You possess strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills which are vital for this role. Additionally, your solid background in product development coupled with good PC skills makes you the perfect fit for this role.
- Minimum 8 years experience in Merchandising / Manufacturing field for Hardgoods, preferable in DIY market.
- Experience in plastic and metal products related to Hardware, PPE, Hand tools, Power tools accessories products will be preferable.
- Ability to handle projects independently & deal with sourcing,cost analysis , capacity evaluation.
- Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Good project management skills & problem-solving skills
- Sound background on product development is an advantage
- Good PC skills
