Regional IT Manager (Cybersecurity)

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a hands-on Regional IT Manager (Cybersecurity) with a focus on Cybersecurity to lead their IT operations across the Asia Pacific region. This role has been created in response to business expansion and increased cybersecurity demands in the region. The successful candidate will be the primary contact in Asia Pacific, working closely with the global security team, while also leading improvements to the IT infrastructure and cybersecurity readiness in the region.
What you'll do:
As a Regional IT Manager (Cybersecurity), you will:
- Serve as the regional lead for IT operations and cybersecurity across multiple Asia Pacific locations.
- Implement and tailor cybersecurity policies based on global directives, adapting them to local/regional needs.
- Act as the first responder for IT security incidents in the region, including emergency escalations after hours or on weekends.
- Conduct proactive assessments of infrastructure, identifying risks and vulnerabilities, and implement improvements.
- Lead, guide, and collaborate with existing local IT support teams, ensuring standardisation and compliance with global IT and security protocols.
- Support regional data centre, server infrastructure, and network operations.
- Travel across Asia Pacific to support IT/cybersecurity initiatives and on-site troubleshooting.
- Maintain regular communication with the C-Level and cybersecurity leadership, acting as a key regional liaison.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Regional IT Manager (Cybersecurity) brings:
- 8+ years of experience in IT operations and infrastructure support, with strong exposure to cybersecurity.
- Proven expertise in Windows Operating System, Active Directory, Group Policy.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting.
- Experience with firewalls and security appliances (SonicWall – CF, IPS, BOTNET, AV).
- Familiarity with virtualisation (VMware) and backup solutions (e.g., VEEAM with immutable storage).
- Scripting/automation skills in PowerShell or similar.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and crisis management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
