What you'll do:
As the VP of Public Policy and Government Relations, your role will be pivotal in monitoring the political landscape, identifying trends that could impact our client's business operations. You will be tasked with evaluating potential impacts, both opportunities and risks, across all business units. Your ability to develop local advocacy targets and strategies that align with regional and global objectives will be crucial. You will also be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and managing internal networks for political activities while building relationships with key external stakeholders.
- Monitor the political environment for relevant trends/topics affecting business operations.
- Evaluate potential impacts for both opportunities and risks across all business units.
- Develop local advocacy targets and strategies in line with regional and global targets.
- Establish, maintain, and manage internal networks for political activities.
- Build up and maintain external networks with key political decision makers and stakeholders.
- Represent the company in association/committee meetings.
- Organise and coordinate political meetings for high-ranking associates.
- Regularly report essential political information to relevant internal stakeholders.
- Communicate the company's positions to decision-makers and key influencers.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the VP Public Policy and Government Relations role will bring a wealth of experience, knowledge, and skills to the table. With a minimum of a bachelor's or master's degree - preferably in public policy, law or macroeconomics - you have spent at least 10 years honing your skills in a related field. Your strong interest in learning combined with your agility and curiosity make you an asset to any team. Your data-driven approach to decision making coupled with your strong analytical skills ensure you can navigate complex situations effectively.
- Minimum of a bachelor's or master's degree - preferably in public policy, law or macroeconomics.
- 12-18 years working experience with minimum of 10 years' experience in a related field.
- Strong interest in learning, agility, and curiosity.
- Data driven approach to decision making.
- Strong analytical and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
- Experience in government or public affairs sectors, public policy consultant, data research firms, management consultant firms, or NGO is a plus.
